 Jeremy
and Rachel have worked in the wine trade for over 30 years and both
hold the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma.
Trained by Grants of St James in wine buying, tasting, and investing
in fine wines, Jeremy specialises in the traditional European wine
areas and in particular Bordeaux, Burgundy and Port.
In 1977, Jeremy established his own wholesale company supplying
quality wines to hotels, restaurants, pubs, corporate and private
customers in the UK. Jeremy also deals in fine wine for investment
and advises corporate and private clients on building a portfolio
of wines for investment or future drinking.
His work regularly takes him on extensive wine tasting and buying
tours throughout Europe. With many years experience and practical
first hand knowledge of the vineyards, Jeremy is an expert at finding
parcels of quality wine, which offer excellent value and an expression
of place.
Rachel specialises in New World wines, wine & health and food &
wine matching. She has led top international consultancy teams to
identify and analyse the strategic growth of the wine industry;
in particular focusing on South African wines for Tesco. Rachel
also organises courses and lectures for corporate and private clients.
Highly experienced in business development, Rachel established
Hay Hampers Ltd, a food and wine gift mail order business in 1984.
Now in its 17th year, Hay Hampers enjoys world-wide recognition
with many long-standing corporate and private customers.
Rachel has an MBA and is an accredited tutor of the WSET, the British
Institute of Innkeeping, Wine Educators International and the Association
of Wine Educators. She also holds a City & Guilds 7307 teaching
qualification.
